Flexhold: Bike covertible system

The Flexhold concept allows the urban cyclist and motorbike rider to wear a classic raincoat in all conditions. Two lateral zips open to release a skirt area which increases leg space so there is no loss of movement.
This gives the cyclist unparalleled freedom of movement and at the same time protects the leg area from the rain.
When the skirt is no longer needed it can be done up and the raincoat returns to its original stylish street contemporary look.

Easehold: ergonomic design.

To create a protective bubble it is necessary to isolate the body from exterior weather conditions without constraining the wearer or making the raincoat uncomfortably large.
The thermoregulation of our Easehold concept draws on both historical examples of raincoat design and feedback from professionals working today in demanding weather conditions, such as, urban cyclists, mountain rescue teams, policemen etc…
Just as our Domehold and Coolhold designs adapt in size with various configurations, the main body of Easehold concept surrounds the body in a thermo regulatory system that is spacious and non-restrictive.

Domehold:multi-adjustable hood.

The main body of the hood can be adjusted and folded back on to itself by means of a large Velcro-adjustable rear strap.
This rear strap, structurally supports the Domehold hood, regulating the horizontal extension of the top visor so that it can remain separate from the head, whilst also protecting it from the rain.
Domehold acts like a small head umbrella, giving the user complete lateral head movement. It can be adjusted depending on the weather conditions.
An additional two inner side reinforcements help to support the hood and to keep it upright.

Coolhold: convertible collar.

Our aim was to make the neck area, not only especially spacious and comfortable, but also to keep the ears warm.
In the cold, the Domehold hood can be folded down to protect the ears completely. Structurally it is complemented functionally by the Coolhold wide design that envelopes the collar area and makes it thermally stable and comfortable.
The wearing of a scarf is rendered unnecessary.

The waterhold impermeable and breathable layer.

Our raincoats are treated with a durable water repellent treatment C6. It makes water droplets collect,. This is the first protective layer. The protective treatment might reduced due to repeated washes but can be recovered with the use of products such as www.nikwax.com.
The protective membrane of our fabrics incorporates all technological advances in modern protective material design. The outer membrane releases excessive perspiration and also act as a highly protective layer against water prenetation.
We worked very closely with our professional clients to create the most functional and efficient protection possible and our layer has been certified by independent prestigious laboratories.

Thermhold : thermoregulating air chamber.

The Overak creates a thermoregulating air chamber between the outer fabric and the inner layer, reducing body heat loss without constraining the wearer.
In the same way that thermal balance in the atmosphere is created when warm air, heated by the sun moves to colder areas, hot air circulates throughout the garment´s air chamber creating thermal balance.
The Overak raincoat is designed to protect the knee area. Dense colder air cannot penetrate from below. You will notice a constant and a pleasant feeling of warmth and comfort in your upper leg area.

Fully taped seams

As a guarantee that no water can penetrate the garment, all our raincoats have sealed stitching. Very few manufacturers of raincoats set the highest standards of quality and durability that we at Overak have set ourselves.
Many seal the main stitched areas, such as across the shoulders and arms areas but neglect the rest. Although a time consuming and laborious task, we seal all stitching. This gives our raincoats unparalleled durability and resistance to extreme storm weather conditions.
To check if a stitched area has been completely sealed is not something that you can see with a casual glance. You can only tell by holding a line of stitch to see if an unbroken line is apparent running along the complete length of the stitched area.

Reflective 3M safety Scothlite.

This is a very important element in a technical garment. Our designers worked on several ideas so that the layer could have some form of reflectance during the night and in low visibility conditions. We had to integrate it esthetically into the design.
We have developed a pattern that incorporates a reflective piping that comes from one sleeve to another crossing the chest. Both front and back. A security guarantee for the user.An Overak of size L expends a total of 3.50 meters of reflective high quality microspheres that will make the garment visible in the distance. This material complies with European EN-471 regulations concerning safety reflective garments.

YKK high quality zippers.

Zips are an integral feature of the garment. The Overak has 7 zips in four sizes and configurations.
YKK, a manufacturer of the world’s best zips, supplies us very sturdy zips. They are both tough and durable and conform to the European Union´s highest standards and have been used for decades by professionals working in the most extreme weather conditions.
Overaks’s main zip is a double zip, permitting the raincoat to be partially opened from the bottom or the top. If the wearer needs access to the lower pockets of the raincoat or their trousers, they do not need to open the zip completely. They simply undo the zip from the bottom. This reduces heat loss and limits the entry of rain.

How it works… Waterproof and breathable membrane

All our raincoats are treated with the C6 hidrophobic DWR durable water repellent treatment that makes water droplets collect, as shown in the photo, into larger groups which then fall off the raincoat and are not absorbed. This is the first protective layer, perhaps not well appreciated by the public, but nevertheless increasingly important in textile engineering development.
The raincoats original repellency can be recovered with the use of products such as www.nikwax.com and other similar treatments.
The hidropilic Waterhold membrane allows the perpiration to move outside while blocks the rain coming inside the garment.

How it works… Overak’s Air Chamber

The Overak creates a thermoregulating air chamber between the outer fabric and the inner layer, reducing body heat loss without constraining the wearer.
In the same way that thermal balance in the atmosphere is created when warm air, heated by the sun moves to colder areas, hot air circulates throughout the garment´s air chamber creating thermal balance.
The Overak raincoat is designed to protect the knee area. Dense colder air cannot penetrate from below. You will notice a constant and a pleasant feeling of warmth and comfort in your upper leg area.
